Green tea – some key information.
Last year I wrote a post about a local Sushi and Yum Cha restaurant. This restaurant, Sushi 4 U, was where I developed a taste for green tea some years ago. In fact, I liked it so much that I went to the grocery store to get my own.
There was just one problem….green tea can taste a little bitter; as did the products I obtained from the grocery store. The green tea at Sushi 4 U did not taste bitter though.
As it happened, at this time I had to travel to Brisbane and stopped at a fast food joint (horror!). Surprisingly they had some premium teas, one of which was green tea with Jasmine. The taste was superb – the Jasmine gave a subtle, smoother taste.
I have been drinking green tea with Jasmine for a number of years now. My favorite brand is Dilmah.
Not long after starting to drink green tea with Jasmine I found that I no longer wanted to drink regular black tea with milk. And not only that, I started drinking large quantities of the green tea with Jasmine.
In more recent times I have discovered some of the health benefits of drinking green tea, which are significant.
Here is a key point:
It is in my view important to drink green tea. If you agree, yet do not like the taste of ordinary green tea, then I suggest that you start drinking green tea with Jasmine.
When shopping for green tea with Jasmine make sure that you get a natural product -with Jasmine petals. I made the mistake of trying an Aldi Jasmine green tea version once which did not contain flowers; but some sort of flavoring. I threw the cupful away, along with the box of unused tea bags.
