A Key Reason Why You Don’t Have Enough Time.

We often tell ourselves and anyone who will listen that we do not have enough time in the day to get everything done.

What is the cause of this time lack many of us wonder?

Recently I got a ‘kick in the pants’ by way of an email list I am subscribed to.

In fact, this particular daily email is one I cherish receiving and get a great deal out of.

Here is what they had to say today:

Follow the 80/20 rule

“Nothing can add more power to your life than concentrating all your energies on a limited set of targets.”

– Nido Qubein

The 80/20 rule says that on a list of 10 tasks, only 2 of those tasks will return 80% of the value of the entire list. Look at your ‘to do’ list for today. Which tasks are directly related to what you most want in life? Find the 2 high value items on your list and tackle them first. These tasks are the ones that really move us forward.

Many of us actively avoid the top 2 priorities because they are more challenging than the rest. If they are to lead us to worthy goals, they are undoubtedly asking us to move into new territory in thinking and acting, and this can be scary. But this is also REWARDING!

“Don’t kid yourself: it’s because you’re doing all those C’s (low priorities) and NOT because you haven’t any time, that you don’t get to do your A’s.”

– Alan Lakein

Good huh?

So why was it a ‘kick in the pants’ for me?

Because due to a number of circumstances (cough….excuses) I had recently succumbed to doing too many C’s and B’s.

I need to lift my game.

This email, which I am sure you will agree is very pointed and informative, was just one of a series. I get one each day – all for free. The content of the emails has been consistently good for years.

In fact, here is a tip, even if you just read and acted on these free emails every day for a few months, your life would change significantly for the better.

I do recommend signing up for their paid service however so as to take full advantage of the excellent material offered. It is inexpensive. If you study and implement their material you will get a great return on your investment.
