A better appearance can earn you more money
Here is an interesting article which claims that waitresses can earn 25% more tips with strategically applied make-up.
What every waitress should know if they want to up their tips by 25 per cent…
Regardless of one’s views as to whether or not this should be the case; it seems that the ‘natural flow of life’ dictates such and that a good policy would be to harness the trend.
Guys should also take note in a more general sense. Is your appearance the best it can be? Or are you wearing worn out, dirty or untidy clothing for example?
Cosmetics can, for both sexes, cover up blemishes.
While I realize that ideally people (customers/employers) should not discriminate on the basis of looks, it is a fact of life that it happens, even if only subconsciously. We can either employ the knowledge of how life flows to our advantage and harness the power, or we can ignore it to our cost.
It is important though to cultivate and grow into such a sense of inner self worth that what others think is irrelevant to us from a personal value perspective. We can then be very happy in ourselves regardless, while employing life flows to our advantage at the same time. Enjoying the best of both worlds.
We may want to try to change others, and get them to alter their views, perhaps even ‘making a stand’. This is appropriate in some cases, however it can also be very inappropriate and damaging at times. Sometimes it is better to concentrate on being — being the change you want to see in the world.
It is inner beauty which is most important **. Charm can be deceptive and outer beauty is fleeting, deteriorating with age and ill health. Concentrate most of all on your personal inner development as that is the real key. Besides a multitude of other benefits, it will also increase your earning power, regardless of your looks.
** An example from my personal life is that being an intuitive, sensitive man, the only attractive women I find really exciting are those who also possess highly developed inner beauty. To me, a beautiful woman with an ugly soul is worse than a lifeless mannequin.
