Time zone resources

Time zones matter.

These days social networking and other dealings with people in different countries and time zones are on the increase.

Online telephone or video conferencing is becoming increasingly common.

Some organizations, and even people, have 24 hour availability however in many cases this is just not practical, or even sensible.

Getting our timing right in this increasingly interconnected world is essential.

Three key websites I rely on for time are:

The official US Time

and

Time and Date Com

The latter is especially useful, with many ways you can examine time. The site includes a variety of useful tools besides the basic time calculators – I even use it to print off desk calendars for placing under the clear plastic I use to write on. (Yes, I still use a pen and paper, though I write much more neatly now I have a computer.)

Another great time resource is The World Time Server, which has some stuff of interest to webmasters too. Reading their home page is worthwhile, especially if you have special needs.
